Job Summary:

As the software engineering expert in Windows technology, the position will be responsible for working with Operations, Sales, Marketing, the other software development leads and industry experts to understand the wagering product requirements for UT products. The position expects the candidate to work under the guidance of business experts to develop domain knowledge of various products. The candidate will engage and define the new paradigm for next generation products and support the existing products with the help of the Wagering domain experts.  Snr Software Engineer owns part or whole of the overall product solution and work to ensure that the product meets our customer's needs. This will involve analysis, modeling, solution design, developing specifications and assist with the integration into Enterprise Wagering Architecture.

A strong understanding and development skills in Microsoft technologies including SQL server, .Net technologies, Web services, user interfaces and modular software architecture is very important.  It is also important to be able to successfully work with remote design teams and or partners.

Essential Functions

  • Design, implement and test software products, applications, and relevant modules.

  • Analyze system functions to determine optimal architecture and design required for new projects and enhancements.

  • Create and Maintain technical documents required to support the wagering products.

  • Learn and understand pari-mutuel industry business process and related software functionality.

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's in a technical discipline (e.g. computer science, information technology, engineering.)

  • Five or more years of Windows application software development experience in C/C++ or C# and .Net

  • Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles

  • Practical experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle

  • Experience in complex software: real-time multi-threading

  • Must have strong analysis and troubleshooting skills

  • Must have a good understanding of Object Oriented design

  • Able to work as an individual or team player with excellent communication skills

  • Knowledge and application of SDLC concepts, Agile and/or iterative development methodologies

  • Project planning skills

  • TCP/IP network based systems

  • Solid design knowledge of Data Communication interfaces and Graphical User Interfaces

  • Willing to learn new technologies

Pluses:

  • Experience in web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, XML

  • Experience in SQL Database

  • Experience in Linux

Job Title:        Site Lead

SUMMARY:

Oversees day-to-day functions of overall tote operation, tote system operation, including hiring, scheduling, and staff development at racetrack, invoicing customers and prepare paperwork for racetrack and corporate offices,  trouble reports, inventories, and cycling spare parts, order supplies, troubleshooting, maintain hardware and interacts with state racing officials.  Position is that of a working supervisor as the incumbent operates and techs on a regular basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Responsible for the day-to-day functions of the overall tote operation at a specific worksite.

·         Working with general manager, assists with the hiring, scheduling and development of qualified staff at the racetrack.

·         Performs tote system data entry and verification.

·         Performs tote board general maintenance and operations

·         Responsible for reviewing the invoicing of customers and the preparation of other paperwork for the racetrack and the corporate office such as trouble reports.

·         Responsible for the timely completion of inventories and the cycling of spare parts and equipment.

·         Responsible for ordering supplies.

·         Ensures that all hardware is properly maintained and in good working order. Includes moving and relocating lines and equipment as needed.

·         Required to interact with customers, racetrack management personnel, and state officials in a professional manner.

·         Maintain costs at the site, including minimizing OT, etc.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: 

Must have good understanding of pari-mutuel wagering and racing operations.  Must be able to lead and direct employees.   Must possess a good understanding of trouble shooting procedures and the ability to report and document problems as they occur.  Must have a thorough working knowledge of the tote software and hardware and able to lead the installation, updates and testing processes.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suites, computer hardware, network, point of sale terminal, tote board technology and functionality, data center and field service operations.  Good written and verbal communication skills are required.  Close vision and good hearing are required for console and radio work.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED. Tote operator experience and electrical and/or computer experience.   

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Fast paced environment requiring normal movement around and between geographic facilities.  Position requires to be licensed by the proper racing and/or gaming authorities within the region.  Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, able to work flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.   Some travel may be required as the workloads dictate.  Must be punctual and have reliable transportation.

SUMMARY
Prepares and maintains UT equipment, repairs, maintains and cleans betting terminals, installs and tears down equipment, stock ticket paper on betting lines, unloads ticket stock from freight truck, labeling, packaging, and shipping reordering spare parts, loads and unloads equipment, maintain and repair infield or auxiliary display boards, and other tasks as required.

High School Diploma or GED. Track experience and electrical and/or computer experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, able to be licensed by state racing commission and gaming commission, able to work flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Short-term travel may be required as the workloads dictate.

The dates will be from:

Assignment  Mach 1 through April 30

Days of week to be determined - Shift is 1 PM - 9 PM
