    Entry level position is available in Louisville KY for United Tote as a Hub Operator.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Assists UT customers in troubleshooting of communication equipment, consoles, terminals, tote boards/auxiliary odds boards, and other tasks as required.
    • Understand configurations of the Tote room hardware, i.e. Consoles, Routers, Port Servers, Switches, EL-32’s and Printers.
    • Tote system data entry and verification, including timely completion of association and/or corporate office reporting.
    • Diligent completion of paperwork, which includes the ability to document, in detail, any incidents and or problems that occur.
    • Must interact with association personnel in a professional and efficient manner.
    • Responsible for the preparation, installation, maintenance and/or tear down of other United Tote equipment.
    • Assist in the training of new employees.
    • Understanding of IP Addressing
    • Understanding of pari-mutuel wagering
    • Other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • High School diploma or GED
    • Computer knowledge.
    • Understanding pari-mutuel wagering, configurations of Tote room hardware, i.e., consoles, routers, port servers, switches, EL-32’s and printers, a plus.
    • Ability to pay close attention to fine details.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Some travel may be required.

    Technical Services: Technical Support/Help Desk
    Technical Support Specialist - United Tote (Louisville, KY)

    SUMMARY:
    Provides day-to-day technical support for tote systems, networks and operations. Is expected to troubleshoot and provide creative solutions for system issues.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provides technical support on the phone or in person to operations and customer service personnel.
    • Provides support in the form of software upgrades for any United Tote customer (domestic or international)
    • Assists hub operators on emergency situations as well as routine operational items
    • Provides solutions for new environments as well as technical solutions to General Managers and Customer Service Representatives. May include added responsibilities for the Marimba system, and Active Directory Support.
    • Must possess a good understanding of trouble shooting procedures and the ability to report and document problems as they occur
    • Other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Must have the knowledge needed to configure a system to meet the needs of any United Tote customer.
    • Mastery of all of the skills of the Hub Operator and Help Desk 1 positions are required.
    • Must be extremely familiar with system installations and new site additions as well as the ability to recognize variances between one system and another.
    • Experienced in working alone or with others to resolve system hardware/software problems.
    • Must be able to travel extensively in and out of North America sometimes for extended durations.
    • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot system and tote terminal interactions between modules.
    • Knowledge of numerous software and hardware technologies strongly desired.
    • Basic knowledge of Tote Network configurations and routing.
    • Good communication skills both verbally and written; ability to document events.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is the minimum education required. Degree in computer science is preferred. A minimum of three years experience as a Tote hub operator or electrical and/or computer experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Technician/Operator - United Tote - Dania Jai Alai (Dania Beach, FL)

    SUMMARY:
    Tote system data entry and verification work, reports and paperwork for racetrack and/or corporate office, train new employees, maintains, operates, setup, or troubleshoot boards and auxiliary odds boards. Prepares and maintains UT equipment, repairs, maintains and cleans betting terminals, installs and tears down equipment, stock ticket paper on betting lines, unloads ticket stock from freight truck, labeling, packaging, and shipping reordering spare parts, loads and unloads equipment, maintain and repair infield or auxiliary display boards, and other tasks as required.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Tote system data entry and verification.
    • Preparation of reports/paperwork for the racetrack and/or corporate office.
    • Assist in the shipping, loading or unloading of company equipment and/or supplies.
    • Labeling, packaging, shipping and re-ordering of spare parts.
    • Assist in the training of new employees and Line Technicians
    • Maintain, operate, setup or troubleshoot tote boards and auxiliary odds boards.
    • Operation of the communications equipment used at the racetrack.
    • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of United Tote equipment.
    • Equipment installation and tear down.
    • Stocking of ticket paper on betting lines.
    • Unloading of ticket stock from freight trucks.
    • Perform minor repairs on terminal components, test components, correctly package components for shipment and order replacement components.
    • Develop wiring and soldering skills.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
    Must have understanding of what pari-mutuel wagering is and United Tote’s role at the racetrack. Must be able to interact with association personnel in a professional and efficient manner. Must be able to understand configurations of the Tote room hardware, i.e. modems, multiplexers, consoles, display controllers and printers. Familiarity with the Tote Board installation and operation.
    Understand the system reports and know what information is reported. Understand how prices are calculated and become familiar with the State rules and regulations.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
    High School Diploma or GED. Line technician experience and electrical and/or computer experience.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, able to be licensed by state racing commission, able to work flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some travel may be required as the workloads dictate. Must be punctual and have reliable transportation.

    United Tote Hub Operator I (Wagering Systems Operator) - Eastern Hub Operations (Louisville, KY)

    SUMMARY

    The main job function will be to operate a proprietary, state of the art, international wagering platform in real-time.  The individual will work on a team of first tier responders to provide high quality customer support, troubleshooting, solutions for wagering-related functions, technical incidents and requests. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in fast-paced learning environment.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

    • After in-class and hands-on training period, effectively operate and monitor United Tote’s global wagering system.
    • Professionally assist customers (internal and external) with questions about racing operations and the status of technical equipment (e.g. network equipment, wagering terminals, and other third party devices, etc.).
    • Enter, update, categorize, and appropriately escalate requests and incidents in modern ITIL Service Desk tool.
    • Learn, comply and accurately follow regulatory requirements and business best practices.
    • Participate in the documentation, maintenance and creation of standard processes and procedures (e.g. solutions, incident escalation and compliance).
    • Apply existing and new IT technical skills and knowledge to solve real business issues on a regular basis.
    • Must obtain and maintain personal racing licenses in multiple jurisdictions (e.g. multiple states) with some state applications that include background checks and fingerprinting.  Note: Initial licensing assistance will be provided by United Tote.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS
