    Senior Director of Corporate Development - Churchill Downs Incorporated (Louisville, KY)

    SUMMARY

    The Senior Director of Corporate Development will work closely with the Corporate Development team, Legal Department, and Senior Management to (i) assist in the development of corporate strategy, (ii) lead cross-functional teams to execute mergers & acquisitions as well as non-standard commercial arrangements and (iii) analyze and make recommendations concerning potential acquisition or organic growth opportunities. The successful candidate will be a self-starter confident in taking responsibility for execution of development projects from identification of the opportunity until closing, working with various corporate departments and outside resources along the way.  This position reports to the SVP, Corporate Development.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    • Identify, evaluate, and execute potential corporate development opportunities including acquisitions, partnerships, new business concepts, and other growth initiatives
    • Contribute to the development and execution of CDI’s strategy and growth initiatives (e.g., brainstorming “investible ideas” that may be outside the scope of the current business but utilize skills that reside within the company or are adjacent to existing lines of business)
    • Provide leading role in deal structuring, negotiation, and completion of corporate development transactions, including both traditional merger & acquisition deals and non-standard, complex commercial arrangements (e.g., intellectual property licensing, joint venture agreements, etc.)

    Senior IT Auditor - Churchill Downs Incorporated (Louisville, KY)

    SUMMARY

    Under direction of the Vice President of Internal Audit, the Senior IT Auditor is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient IT audits are performed consistent with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley, the Company’s strategic objectives, and the annual risk assessment.  In addition to providing IT audit support, the Senior IT Auditor will support other non-IT internal audit and compliance functions.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field and CPA, CISA, or CIA certification.

    • A minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in IT auditing and/or consulting.

    • Considerable knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, COSO, COBIT and PCAOB regulations and requirements.

    • Familiarity with auditing business processes and financial statements, including test of controls, test of details, and sampling methods.

    • Understanding of key domains of information technology general controls, including change management, access to programs and data, computer operations and systems development.

    • Thorough understanding of ERP and supporting IT systems.

    • Knowledge of:

      • Windows and Linux-based platforms

      • VMware and virtualization technologies

      • Backend database systems and database technologies

      • Microsoft Active Directory and other user administration tools

      • ITIL Foundations

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office

    • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley requirements, including the configuration of controls around security, business processes and within IT environments.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform preliminary reviews of audit areas to identify risk areas.  Create audit programs to ensure that planned audit procedures are thorough and adequately address identified risks.

    • Ensure test plans address the necessary SOX testing requirements of the Company's ERP system and supporting systems at all Company facilities; tracks the completion of such testing to ensure it is completed on-time; recommends corrective action for deficiencies noted, follows-up to ensure deficiencies are remediated and supports the external auditors by performing reliance testing for the external audit firm.

    • Assist with operational audits across the organization, both IT and non-IT focused.

    • Provide feedback to management regarding IT best practices related to increasing efficiency and enhancing the control environment.

    • Travel ranges between 5% - 10%.

    Job Description

    Seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to apply knowledge of accounting processes to assist in the preparation and consolidation of internal and external accounting and financial reporting functions for a publicly traded company.  The candidate will lead certain responsibilities for the centralized accounting functions for approximately fifteen domestic and international subsidiaries and joint ventures.   This position reports to the Financial Reporting Manager.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.  
    • CPA or in process of obtaining CPA preferred.
    • A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in public accounting, or experience in corporate accounting for a publicly traded company preferred.
    • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
    • Experience with month-end closing process, including preparation of journal entries.
    • Proficiency in Excel required.
    • JDE / Oracle general ledger software experience a plus.

    Virtualization Engineer - Churchill Downs Incorporated (Louisville, KY)

    Position Summary –

    This position will report to the Director of IT Infrastructure and will be responsible for supporting converged environments across multiple US datacenters.  

    The Virtualization Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, monitoring, and reporting of the enterprise virtual infrastructures – as well as the network and cloud operations – of Churchill Downs Incorporated and its related properties – specifically TwinSpires, United Tote, and the company’s gaming and racing properties.  They will also support the company’s production Data Centers and support the 24x7 nature of the business through a rotation-based on-call assignment.  This position will be required to be customer facing and able to troubleshoot various issues with customers and vendors. Some travel is required.

    Responsibilities –

    • Ensure the successful and continued operation of the company’s network and Virtual infrastructure
    • Provide leadership and escalations for change and incident bridges
    • Investigate Infrastructure issues and bring to resolution within stated SLA parameters
    • Provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to operations team and customers upon request
    • Provide technical leadership (both verbal and written) for Incident and Change
    • Participate in on-call rotation for incident management and escalation
    • Interact with customer base through a combination of ticket requests and telephone interactions
    • Works appropriate level tickets in the team queue, as directed by management
    • Works with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues
    • Gather and maintain data for capacity planning and performance analysis of infrastructure
    • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Infrastructure problems according to Service Level Agreements
    • Monitor, maintain, and provide regular reporting on the infrastructure operation on a regular basis
    • Firewall planning, maintenance and reporting
    • Plan and execute changes to the infrastructure within the confines of our established Change Control framework
    • Implementation of virtualization solutions, computer platforms and appliances that support virtualization, including all server hardware, hypervisors, networking and load balancing appliances
    • Stay up to date on emerging technologies and products, including attaining certifications and participation in industry events, as appropriate
    • Foster new ideas and methodologies to improve automation and service delivery
    • Use scripting to automate technical processes, particularly as related to integrating local virtualized infrastructure with external cloud
    • Infrastructure Equipment Inventory Management; datacenter ITAM
    • Serve regularly as a standing interface between the IT Infrastructure team and Cloud, Development, InfoSec, and other teams as directed
    • Maintain an extensive IP Telephony network specifically responsible for the Cisco Unified Contact Center Express deployments and UCCx script writing
    • Participate in cross-team projects to include work in the hybrid cloud, external cloud, and internal/on-premises cloud arenas
    • Perform TCP/IP route switch support, deploy, maintenance, and troubleshoot duties along with the Network Engineers
    • Wireless LAN configuration and maintenance
    • Gather and compile documentation and drawings as required
    • Update and maintain infrastructure management application databases and CMDB tools.
    • Proactively address business process issues regarding Infrastructure through architecture design, development and implementation as well as business process re-engineering
    • Ensure that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
    • Develops, leads, and owns projects to improve performance, efficiency, experience, capacity, etc. of environments
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Requirements –

    • 4 year degree in IT/IS or other closely related discipline; may consider experience and certifications for degree requirement.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience managing and configuring VMware vSphere, including compute platforms and storage networks.
    • Experience with VMWare Horizon VDI, Horizon View console, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of connection/broker servers and security servers
    • Thorough understanding of the relationships between Active Directory structure/groups and Horizon VDI operation and control.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience implementing / managing WAN circuits.
    • Knowledge and experience of problems and solutions related to the interoperability of compute (blade hardware, vSphere hypervisor, Windows server OS, and Active Directory), SAN, route/switch network, and cloud connections.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience using network analysis, management and performance monitoring tools to plan for growth, diagnose problems and determine source.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience managing comprehensive projects in complex networking environment.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience implementing VLAN technology in an enterprise environment.
    • Experience with cloud technologies and API’s, particularly AWS.
    • 5 years’ experience with Change Management/Change Control systems in an enterprise datacenter environment spanning multiple remote locations.
    • Position located in Louisville, KY with occasional reporting to various other sites in the Louisville, KY area.
    • Minimal travel at times to remote sites.
    • Ability to work an 24x7 on-call rotation.
    • Ability to work certain night/weekend shifts on an as-needed basis for major infrastructure changes.
    • Ability to work several marquee events such as the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks.
    • Ability to be licensed as an Employee by various racing and gaming jurisdictions in which we operate, as required.
