    Job Summary

    This individual works with the IT Teams and end users on IT related projects & initiatives in support of property applications and operations. This individual is expected to facilitate meetings to discuss end user requirements, status, issues, planning, training, and/or operational needs. This individual will write functional specification documents, test plans, training plans, deployment plans and policy and procedures in support IT operations and projects.

    Essential Functions

    • Responsible for timely and complete communications between corporate IT team and all property IT staff.
    • Perform analysis of the property applications needs and contributes to design, structure, and maintenance of the systems.
    • Analyzes business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.
    • Ability to plan, estimate, and schedule multiple tasks and develop detail resource and project plans.
    • Possesses technical knowledge of most phases of systems analysis, and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
    • Analyzes business requirements and defines information systems solutions to address complex business needs (requiring innovative and creative solutions and frequently involve multiple platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools).
    • Provides support to users in system and software administration and usage.
    • Communicate and coordinates maintenance schedule, backups, and downtime to users.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Education and/or Experience

    • Must possess 3-5 years experience in an IT position for an ERP System
    • JD Edwards Experience a plus
    • Java Script Experience a plus
    • Must be able to effectively communicate in English both orally and written
    • Experience in general Windows Server and basic SQL Queries
    • Experience understanding of Financial Statements (Trial Balance, Income Statement Balance Sheet).
    • Experience with planning, budgeting, and common business processes.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    Seeking a senior accounting analyst to apply knowledge of accounting principles to record month end closing entries, prepare account reconciliations, ad hoc reporting and analyze financial information as a part of the controllership function and operations finance within Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI).  The candidate will assist in the evaluation, update and communication of accounting policies and procedures and will participate in and maintain adequate controls within the Company’s general ledger accounting software and assist with technical updates and enhancements to the general ledger system.   In addition, the candidate will perform routine business analysis of operations including, but not limited to, special event results, marketing program analysis, labor analytics and ad hoc analysis as requested by management.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.  CPA preferred.  A minimum of 3-7 years’ experience in accounting and business analysis.
    • Public accounting firm experience preferred.

    Senior Analyst - Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis - Churchill Downs Incorporated (Louisville, KY)

    SUMMARY:

    Provides financial planning and analysis (FP&A) support at the corporate level and assists executive management in the development of strategic and operating plans for Churchill Downs Incorporated.  Works with the FP&A operating segment leaders to provide analysis on actual results, develop forecasts, and to develop actions to achieve the forecasts.   Responsible for analysis and decision support related to capital management and business development activities.  Provides financial analysis and decision support to the executive management as needed.   This position reports to the VP - Corporate FP&A.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. 
    • Masters, CPA, and / or CFA preferred.
    • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in financial planning and analysis or related finance role.

    Senior IT Auditor - Churchill Downs Incorporated (Louisville, KY)

    SUMMARY

    Under direction of the Vice President of Internal Audit, the Senior IT Auditor is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient IT audits are performed consistent with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley, the Company’s strategic objectives, and the annual risk assessment.  In addition to providing IT audit support, the Senior IT Auditor will support other non-IT internal audit and compliance functions.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field and CPA, CISA, or CIA certification.
    • A minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in IT auditing and/or consulting.
    • Considerable knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, COSO, COBIT and PCAOB regulations and requirements.
    • Familiarity with auditing business processes and financial statements, including test of controls, test of details, and sampling methods.
    • Understanding of key domains of information technology general controls, including change management, access to programs and data, computer operations and systems development.

    The Vice President of Internal Audit is responsible for the timely planning and execution of risk-based internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan, as well as assisting with other audit matters and projects.  This individual will oversee internal audits at all Churchill Downs Incorporated properties as well as build and maintain a working relationship with external auditors.  This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and to Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
